Welcome to the "Performers and Art Music Concerts in Chile" Database.
It currently contains details of almost 4,000 musical events, as well as more than 60 biographies of Chilean classical music performers and ensembles, with a particular focus on the second half of the 20th century. Based on research in public and private archives, the database has gradually been enriched through the collaboration of various researchers and their projects. Management of the platform has been supported by the National Research and Development Agency (ANID) through Fondecyt Initiation project 11170844, 'Alternative spaces for contemporary music in Chile, 1945–1995'; Fondecyt Regular project 1220972, 'Serialism in Latin America as a cultural technique'; and Music Fund project 583750, 'Biographies of Chilean classical music performers, 1945–1995'. Research and Dissemination of Their Contribution to Chilean Musical Life”, all led by Daniela Fugellie as main researcher.
Gerardo Marcoleta (2017–2019), Sergio Araya (2017–2025), and Constanza Toledo (2020–2022) have worked on these projects. The database and its user interface were designed by Johnny Reveco, Juan Pablo Gil, and Martín Gil.
The information is presented in four tabs:
- Concerts: allows you to search for concerts using filters and keywords.
- Biographies: provides biographies of performers and ensembles.
- Participants and Composers: a list of all the people included in the database.
- Groups: a list of all the groups included in the database.
